{love} plants and new prints

You  can’t go wrong with plants. No matter what kind of mood you’re in, they somehow seem to brighten your day. There are many beautiful things about plants. The colors, the fact that they are living and growing constantly. They have a need for their environment and for their owner. Plants need sunlight, water and a little tlc. As a plant owner, I enjoy taking care of my botanical beauties. To be honest, on occasion its more like reviving them back to life, ha, but other days their just a friendly conversation. Ok, I’m not a nut, but plants can be my friends too!

You know that life you dream about where you always have fresh flowers on the kitchen table? Well, for some reason lately I have been given some amazingly beautiful flowers, which has made my house seem so happy and Springy! It’s been fun watching the flowers bloom and change colors…and then eventually die, ha. But with every dying plant there is still I perfectly good vase, which has led me to a couple of planting projects of my own!  More like a replanting/planting project. The flowers in my bouquet wilted at different times, so I was actually able to get a few different arrangements out of my original bouquet! I eventually I went to Lowe’s and got this awesome looking plant to take their place! I wanted something green and unique and hopefully something I can keep alive!

Here are the other flowers I was given! Didn’t they bloom beautifully? I literally sat next to them one afternoon and watched them bloom, it was fascinating.

Another fascinating find of mine is Amy Butler‘s newest fabric line Love. Yes, I certainly do LOVE her Love fabrics! These prints were inspired by her recent travels to Indonesia and England. Can I go and be inspired there to please? Her interpretations of different floral varieties that are represented through out these prints are beautiful and inspirational. Here are a few of my favorites, but be sure to check out the whole collection on her web site! Also notice how she pairs beautiful flower arrangements with her fabrics!

Someday I will be a fabric designer too.
